Stonelist – Return Policy

Last updated: May 2026

At Stonelist, we work with natural stone, quartz, porcelain, and sintered stone products sourced from multiple manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. Due to the unique nature of slab materials, variations in color, movement, veining, texture, and finish are considered normal characteristics and part of the beauty of the material. This Return & Material Inspection Policy is designed to create a clear, fair, and transparent process for all parties involved.

1. Material Inspection Before Pickup, Delivery & Fabrication

Customers, fabricators, contractors, designers, and their representatives are responsible for inspecting and approving slabs before fabrication or installation.

Approval of the slab confirms acceptance of:

  • Color variation
  • Veining and movement
  • Pattern distribution
  • Finish and texture
  • Natural markings and characteristics
  • Bookmatch or slab-to-slab variation
  • Size and thickness tolerances

Natural stone products are not manufactured products and no two slabs are identical.

Once material has been fabricated, cut, altered, installed, sealed, or otherwise modified, it is considered accepted and non-returnable.

2. Returns of Stock Materials

Subject to inspection and approval, stocked full slabs may be eligible for return under the following conditions:

  • Return request must be submitted within 14 calendar days from pickup or delivery date
  • Material must remain unused, unfabricated, uninstalled, and in original condition
  • Slabs must not be damaged, chipped, stained, scratched, cracked, or altered
  • Original invoice or proof of purchase is required
  • Returned material must match the original tagged slab or lot number
  • Customer is responsible for all transportation, handling, loading, and unloading costs associated with returns

Approved returns are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee.

Returns are not guaranteed and remain subject to material inspection and inventory condition.

3. Non-Returnable & Final Sale Items

  • The following items are final sale and non-returnable:
    • Special-order materials
    • Non-stock items
    • Clearance or discounted products
    • Promotional materials
    • Remnant pieces
    • Cut-to-size materials
    • Fabricated products
    • Installed materials
    • Backordered or custom-imported products
    • Reserved or specially tagged slabs held for customers
    • Materials with visible damage after pickup or delivery acceptance
Deposits for special-order or custom-imported materials are non-refundable.

4. Natural Stone Disclaimer

Natural stones including marble, quartzite, granite, travertine, limestone, and onyx contain naturally occurring characteristics and variations.

These may include:

  • Veining variation
  • Surface pits
  • Fissures
  • Resin-filled areas
  • Mineral deposits
  • Shade variation
  • Movement variation
  • Texture inconsistency
  • Bookmatch variation

These characteristics are natural features of the material and are not considered defects.

Digital photos, samples, marketing images, and online inventory photos are for general reference only and may not fully represent the exact slab.

Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect slabs in person prior to purchase and fabrication.

5. Quartz, Porcelain & Sintered Stone Variation Disclaimer

Engineered materials including quartz, porcelain, and sintered stone may also vary between production batches, slab sizes, dye lots, and manufacturing runs.

Minor variation in:

  • Shade
  • Pattern alignment
  • Brightness
  • Surface reflection
  • Texture
  • Thickness

is considered normal and not a manufacturing defect.

6. Delivery Claims & Damage Reporting

All deliveries must be inspected immediately upon receipt.

Any visible shipping or handling damage must:

  • Be noted on the delivery receipt or bill of lading
  • Be photographed before unloading or fabrication
  • Be reported within 24 hours of delivery

Failure to report visible damage within this timeframe may result in denial of the claim.

Stonelist is not responsible for damage occurring after pickup, customer-arranged transportation, improper storage, fabrication, installation, or jobsite handling.

7. Fabrication & Installation Responsibility

Stonelist supplies slab materials only unless otherwise stated in writing.

Fabricators and installers are responsible for:

  • Verifying slab suitability before cutting
  • Inspecting for defects prior to fabrication

  • Visible defects that could reasonably have been identified prior to fabrication
