SSC Industries was founded in 1988 by Christopher Prince. At this time Chris's goal was to provide the Vancouver market with architectural corian and acrylic surfaces for single-family homes. Chris's son Quinn started working for the company over summers and on weekends at the age of 13. In 2003 Quinn graduated high school and decided to start working for SSC Countertops LTD but more commonly known as SSC. Quinn spent the first 10 years of his career training under his father and other senior team members. He was given the opportunity to spend time in every department including estimating, site measuring, drafting, programming, machining, machine maintenance, and millwrighting. His true passion at the time was focused around fabricating, cutting, and installing custom natural stone work for single-family luxury homes. When Quinn was 27 years old, he took over the company from his father and began building a strong core of senior team leaders in all departments. This allowed him to remain focused on the final installation of the product we were providing. Quinn's goal is to continue providing our clients with the highest level of quality, precision, and service in our industry. Chris and Quinn have always believed that investing in technology and machinery would make the business more efficient. This is the key to providing our designers, builders, and clients with a consistently accurate product that matches exactly what they envisioned.
Design Package Projects begin with an idea and then a drawing/design. Your detailed design package should be sent to us along with a material choice and color. If you are having a hard time deciding which material please let us know and we can assist you over the phone or schedule a time for you to visit our Natural Stone Slab Gallery. Please see the link to our Live Online Inventory here. The design package you send will allow us to calculate your project's material needs and provide you with a quote.Material Selection The material selection process usually starts by using our Online Inventory or by booking an appointment to view our Natural Stone in person. Our team can help guide you through this process each step of the way. If you don't find the stone you are looking for, we can help you select material from one of our local suppliers or from our partners in Italy and Brazil. We guarantee a smooth material selection process whether purchasing locally or internationally.Quotation Once we receive your drawing and material selection, we can provide you with a detailed quote. At this time we will also provide you with our current lead time from site measure to install. Please note that, in most cases, site measures will be booked 5-7 business days from the time we receive a deposit.Measurement Our Project Coordinator will book your initial measure and assign a Project Manager to your job. The Project Manager you are assigned will be your point of contact from the measure to the installation. Our PMs use the latest technology to the template, measure, and plan your project. We then use this information to create a computer-aided design for your project. These files are then sent to our machines for precise cutting. For natural stone and material with patterns or movement, we will provide you with a full-colour layout to show you how the pattern of the stone will look on your counters, backsplash, walls, fireplaces, and flooring. We do this by overlaying the photos of your slab on the project drawings we have created. This allows us to achieve perfect vein matching and a more visually appealing finished product. Please ensure the lead decision-maker in your household is present when we measure. This will give us the best chance to provide you with all the custom details you envisioned. Fabrication All fabrication and installation are completed in-house. Your stone will be cut and polished using our waterjet and 5-axis CNC machines. Once the parts are cut, they are then fabricated and manually polished by our team of experienced fabricators. Each part or piece of stone is verified and checked against the project plan your PM creates. Once the final checks are complete, the job is then taken over by our installation team.Installation On the morning of installation day, our head installer will meet with the Project Manager to discuss your project and review drawings. Our team of installers are professionals who have years of experience working with stone and solid surface. This ensures that the standard of our work remains the highest in our industry.
